A little pop of color never hurt anybody.
Since I started this blog, I have had a lot of very good questions asked about my posts. Everything from how I am doing these looks to where I would actually wear them to. So, I will try my best to explain things a little better instead of just listing products.
This particular post is one of my favorite looks to do. It looks very fresh and colorful, but is no way overboard. If you are someone that is terrified of putting colorful eyeshadows all over your eye, but still want to experiment with color...this look is for you. The green could be switched out for any color... purple, blue, orange, you name it.
For the eyes, I started off priming my lids. I then went in with the Self-Made palette and used the color "Treasure" all over the lids. I then went into the crease with the color "Sherbert". Lastly, the bottom lashline color is called "Isla", and it is from the same palette. I blended the top and bottom lid until it looked seamless. I topped it off with a thick line of black liquid liner and a coat of mascara. And it is as simple as that.
The lip color is really up to you. I was feeling bold this day, so I went for a more bright lip. However, this eyeshadow look would be just as popping with a more netural and muted lip color.
Products Used:
Primer: Make Up Forever Step 1 Hydrating Primer
Foundation: A mixture of Maybelline Fit me foundation stick and the Loreal True Match Lumi cushion foundation. This was my first time using this foundation stick, and I have mixed feelings on it so far. It didn't seem to cover the freckles that I have on my nose and cheeks, and that is why I chose to mix it with the cushion foundation (which I LOVE!!).
Concealer: Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer
Bronzer: Benefit "Hoola" Bronzer
Blush: "Guava" by Smashbox
Highlight: Anastasia Beverly Hills "Starlight"
Brows: Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz in "Dark Brown"
Eye Shadow Palette: Anastasia Bevery Hills Self-Made Palette (specific shade names that were used are listed above)
Eyeliner: Wet n Wild black liquid liner
Mascara: Laura Geller black primer and Bare Minerals Flawless Defintion mascara
Lips: Revlon "Coralberry"
Setting Spray: Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray
I never realized how stuck on certain products I was until I made this blog and had to actually write them down every time. So, I am going to promise to be sure to use the full extent of my entire makeup collection, try new things, and branch out.
